Kaitlyn Mora

Kaitlyn Mora was born on January 16th to her very proud mommy, Laura.  From day one, she was a special light in the lives of everyone she met.

Kaitlyn is sassy, full of joy and abundantly creative. She especially loves doing crafts and painting.  She adores going to school and her favorite subject is math.  Kaitlyn has a heart for others and loves animals, especially dogs. After personally experiencing the impact of the therapy dogs at Children's Medical Center, she convinced her mom to get her a golden retriever of her own that she wants to train to become a therapy dog to help other kids like her who have brain cancer.  Thinking about others first has always been a part of Kaitlyn's character and that has never changed, even when she was not feeling well herself.

Diagnosis

In November of 2023, when she was in first grade,  Kaitlyn started experiencing troubling neurological symptoms like headaches, dizziness, trouble walking and nausea. After testing, she was diagnosed with DIPG.  She underwent a brain biopsy and then started a course of radiation and chemotherapy in hopes of shrinking and slowing tumor progression.

Throughout her treatment journey, Kaitlyn and Laura have faced every obstacle side by side and have modeled living their best life to the fullest, trusting in God and staying positive despite facing this devastating diagnosis. Kaitlyn and her mom have been able to visit all of her favorite princesses at Disney World, along with her all time favorite character, Stitch, and spend a lot of time with their extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins.  Kaitlyn insists on attending school as much as possible, even after she lost the ability to walk and talk and she never turns down a trip to her favorite store, Target!

Kaitlyn is a beautiful soul and the Archer Foundation is proud to support this precious family as they spend every valuable moment together.
